Before you make your final decision, here are some things you should know.

Long-Haired Jack Russell Terrier Puppies

The coat of the Jack Russell Terrier should be smooth and long, proportional to the length of the dog’s body. While it’s not necessary to groom a long-haired Jack, you should make sure you brush it regularly and bathe it only when necessary. It is also important to groom the long-haired variety so it will not shed as much as the short-haired breed.

Jack Russell terriers come in three coat types, ranging from smooth to long-haired. All coat types are dense and weatherproof.

Smooth coats tend to shed the most and require daily brushing. Long-haired jack Russell terriers shed the least, but need frequent brushing and trimming. However, they do shed. Therefore, it’s important to choose the right one for your lifestyle.

Although Jack Russell terriers are very lovable and affectionate, they are not good choices for homes with small children. These dogs are often rambunctious and snappy if handled roughly. They also require daily exercise. But the long-haired variety is not for everyone. They are great lap dogs and are great around children, but don’t get too attached to your children. They are not good with other pets, including cats and other dogs.

  1. Adopted Jack Russel Terrier Wired nine years ago. He was five years old. He now is age 14, active and most lovable. Yet he gets back home and sleeps for hours. Last couple years he started spots popping out, 5 to 7, appears as warts. I’ve tried to take them off, but it comes back at this old age. He eats rarely till late at night and goes back to sleep. I am at age 82+, had many top-quality dogs over these years. Very special and beautiful variety. Yet, Jack different and love him to death, as he and I are close to the end.
Always felt if I die and go into another existence was all I wanted was my dogs under a big shade tree along a wonderful creek. All would be great, yet Jack is my first and last choice to live forever in another existence from this Earth. Look forward to that!!!!!!!!
You have to love and enjoy Jack Russel Terrier Wired, keep him close to yourselves. Otherwise, get yourself a something else!
